President Jim Raggio called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. All present recited the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the United States. Attendees introduced themselves.

Treasurer’s Report: Chuck Arnold reported the checking account balance is $4,115.14 and the savings balance is $3,406.47, for a total of $7,521.61.

November/December Meeting: It was noted our annual meeting will be held the end of October this year. After discussion, the majority voted to hold an additional meeting this year during November or December. There was discussion of possible future speakers.

Legislative Report: President Raggio distributed information from George Emerson on a proposed state constitutional amendment regarding eminent domain. It was noted this is the result of discussion from various agencies and legislators.

Guest Speaker: Janet Wolf, Santa Barbara County Second District Supervisor: Supervisor Wolf was introduced, noting she has been in Santa Barbara since 1981, is a vocational rehabilitation consultant, and was a member of the Goleta School Board. Supervisor Wolf said as a consultant she has worked with people throughout the County and has learned they all want the same thing, a safe, healthy place to live. The biggest surprise is how busy she is, stating the weekly Board of Supervisor meeting packages are huge are require significant time for review. Supervisor Wolf says she has the greatest respect for the other supervisors. Values are important and provide a framework in determining what receives funding.

CSDA Report: John Fox suggested those attending the annual CSDA conference complete their reservations soon, the hotel’s block of rooms if quickly filling up.

Old Business: None.

New Business: None.

President Raggio noted the July speaker will be Joe Armendariz of the Santa Barbara County Taxpayers Association.

Adjournment: President Raggio adjourned the meeting at 8:10 p.m. The next monthly Chapter meeting will be Monday, July 23 at The Meadows, Solvang, California.
